One of the biggest problems in robotic welding is the risk of "interference." When welding inside a deep box, if the standard neck is too short, the robot's 6th axis or hose bundle will collide with the workpiece.
RM82WL, Its extended geometry moves the TCP point (Tool Center Point) further away from the robot's wrist. This allows the robot to safely reach the deepest corners without touching the workpiece.

Yes, since the TCP port will change (extend), you will need to recalibrate the robot's TCP settings. However, the physical assembly is exactly the same.
